Musical connections May 22, 2011

Did you know the seventh generation of our family is involved in education and the performing arts in NY state? It's true! Kindly take a few minutes to view a new family YouTube Channel and send us your links to additional videos. We're looking for profiles and other content about our family. Maybe your son or daughter performs in the school talent show, sings in a choir, or has a recital-- add to our list of venues, whether or not you post a family video, photos, or audio.

If you are a teacher or performing artist, please also browse our corresponding public test sites. We'll also attempt to reach you directly about tailoring the web site designs and properly crediting your content. Please help us find YouTube videos, class info, playlists, events information, and photos/press releases (see what we've collected here) about you/your group. Read more.

Thank you for taking time to read this post.

Registering a Domain Name - May 1, 2011

To reach another person on the Internet you have to type an address into your computer -- a name or a number (Internet Protocol or "IP" address). That address must be unique so computers know where to find each other. By assigning a "domain name" to our family IP addresses, we will have web sites accessible to Internet users around the world, as well as a familiar device that is easier to remember.

Why is this important? For many people, Internet addresses are more memorable than phone numbers. Having a familiar name will make it easier for our family to find and connect on the Internet. We're looking for domain names that we can register for our public web sites on September 1, 2011.
